Cast announced for When We Were Women

Abigail Lawrie makes her stage debut as Isla following her acclaimed performance in JK Rowling's The Casual Vacancy on BBC One. In the first major revival of Sharman Macdonald's play, Lorraine Pilkington (Monarch of the Glen, Outnumbered) and Steve Nicolson (Toast at the Park Theatre, War Horse in the West End) play her parents Maggie and Alec, with Mark Edel-Hunt (Chariots of Fire in the West End, Call the Midwife on TV) as Mackenzie and Sarah-Jayne Butler (Thark at Park Theatre, This House at the National Theatre) as Cath.

The Orange Tree collaborates with Snapdragon Productions for the first time to present the first major revival of Sharman Macdonald’s evocative portrayal of family life in Second World War Glasgow, first seen at the National Theatre in 1988. Snapdragon’s Artistic Director Eleanor Rhode makes her Orange Tree debut, following Richard Bean’s Toast at the Park Theatre and Teddy at Southwark Playhouse.
