Part of the Directors' Festival 2018

“If only all new directors had the energetic vision of Samson Hawkins.” The Reviews Hub

When I make my millions this place will be like Magaluf or Las Vegas or something, it will be the best place in the world.

Katie Johnstone wants to help the town she loves. She wants to start a business that will make millions while writing poems like Alex Turner. Everyone else wants her to get a boyfriend and go work at Tesco.

But Katie Johnstone isn’t like everyone else.

I mean it you know, I'm gunna fucking do something.

Filled with northern soul dancing, a fox and extreme gardening Katie Johnstone is a celebration of the passion of youth.

“We feel Katie’s optimism and hopefulness for her future, we want her to succeed and we think she will. After all this is theatre where anything is possible. This emotional journey the audience go on speaks volumes about the direction of Samson Hawkins.” A Younger Theatre

“Barnes is fast proving himself to be one of our finest young writers” The Stage

Luke Barnes’ plays include No One Will Tell Me When To Start a Revolution (Hampstead); All We Ever Wanted Was Everything (Paines Plough Roundabout/Latitude/Hull); Ten Storey Love Song (Hull Truck); Weekend Rockstars (BAC/Hull Truck/UK tour); Bottleneck (Soho); and Chapel Street (Bush).
