Youth Theatre

Our community groups are for anyone aged 0 – 100, and are an opportunity to explore, create, meet new people ad learn new skills. Sessions are led by professional directors, theatre-makers and actors who are highly experienced in working with and for children, young people and adults, including those with additional needs and challenges surrounding mental health. Youth Theatre 7 - 9 year olds 

7-9 year olds take part in fun and dynamic sessions where they play drama games to develop theatre-making and performance, learn new skills and makes new friends. This year they will work towards an intergenerational project alongside the OT’s ten other community groups to create a piece of theatre to share in a Summer Festival in 2022.

These sessions will take place on Saturday mornings from 11:30AM - 1:30PM at the Orange Tree Theatre

Youth Theatre 9 - 11 year olds 

9 - 11 year olds take part in fun and dynamic sessions where they play drama games to develop theatre-making and performance, learn new skills and makes new friends. This year they will work towards an intergenerational project alongside the OT’s ten other community groups to create a piece of theatre to share in a Summer Festival in 2022.

These sessions will take place on Saturday afternoons from 2PM - 4PM at the Orange Tree Theatre

Youth Theatre 12- 14 year olds 

12 – 14 year olds take part in engaging weekly sessions which involve games and exercises which develop their skills as theatre-makers, performers and people. Directors leading the sessions will support them with their confidence and challenge them to be bold during the sessions, in whatever they create together. This year they will work towards an intergenerational project alongside the OT’s ten other community groups to create a piece of theatre to share in a Summer Festival in 2022.

These sessions will take place from 5PM - 7PM on Tuesday evenings at the Orange Tree Theatre.

Youth Theatre 14 - 16 year olds 

14 - 16 year olds take part in engaging weekly sessions which involve games and exercises which develop their skills as theatre-makers, performers and people. Directors leading the sessions will support them with their confidence and challenge them to be bold during the sessions, in whatever they create together. This year they will work towards an intergenerational project alongside the OT’s ten other community groups to create a piece of theatre to share in a Summer Festival in 2022.

These sessions will take place on Monday evenings from 5PM - 7PM at the Orange Tree Theatre

Young Company 16 - 18 year olds 

16 – 18 Young Company members will take part in engaging weekly sessions where they play drama games and take part in exercises which develop their skills as theatre-makers, performers and people. This company is a continuation from our Youth Theatre programme and will support and challenge young people to be bold and courageous in their creative thinking and choices, through their skill as theatre-makers and performance. This year they will work towards an intergenerational project alongside the OT’s ten other community groups to create a piece of theatre to share in a Summer Festival in 2022.

These sessions will take place on Thursdays from 5:30PM - 7:30PM at the Orange Tree Theatre

HALF TERM: 25th October - 30th October

Monday 1st November - Saturday 4th December

COMMUNITY DAY: Saturday 10th December

Cost: The cost per term will be £150 for 10 weeks.
