On 3 December 2019, the Orange Tree Theatre is excited to participate in #GivingTuesday. This global day of giving invites individuals to celebrate the holiday season by giving back and creating change in their communities and their world.

We have set a goal of £2,000, and we’re hoping you’ll help us smash it.

The OT’s Education & Participation Programme works with around 10,000 young people every year from schools and colleges across our local boroughs. We introduce Shakespeare’s plays to children and young people from 6 to 18 years old in a lively and engaging way. Our Youth Theatre sessions support young people who are taking performance-based GSCE/BTEC subjects as well as those who enjoy it as a hobby, and our Young Company helps anyone aged 16-25 who is keen to develop their theatre-making skills.

These projects encourage those who take part to work collaboratively allowing them to enjoy the process of watching and making theatre together.

This collaborative spirit helps young people discover more about who they are and the world around them.

Your donation can help these young people connect with the arts in a palpable way. This connection is priceless.

Here’s how your donation could help:

£10 enables a young person to take part in a masterclass with a theatre professional

£20 enables an autistic child and their parent to take part in a participatory Shakespeare production

£40 means young adults with learning disabilities can visit the OT to take part in a workshop and backstage tour

£120 gives one child a free place in Youth Theatre

£275 enables a class of 30 children to take part in Primary Shakespeare

This #GivingTuesday, consider giving a donation to the Orange Tree Theatre’s Education & Participation Programme and help enrich the lives of thousands of young people in our communities.

What we do together makes a difference.
