Fresh from playing lead roles at the National Theatre and the Royal Court, Olivier Award-winning actor Sharon D Clarke comes to the Orange Tree with her solo cabaret. Bringing her powerhouse vocals to a mixture of show music, jazz and soul, this will be a thrilling evening of song.
Sharon D Clarke’s work in theatre includes Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Everyman, The Amen Corner (Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress) and Guys and Dolls at the National. In the West End, she originated the role of Killer Queen in We Will Rock You (Olivier Award nomination), and has appeared in productions of Once On This Island (Olivier Award nomination), Chicago, The Lion King, Rent, Stepping Out, Mama I Want to Sing, Hairspray and Ghost (Olivier Award nomination, Manchester Theatre Award for Best Actress).
