18 June 2017
an evening of theatre, politics and melodrama
“He don’t understand; he speaks a mash-up” The Octoroon, Dion Boucicault
The Orange Tree Writers Collective responds to Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ An Octoroon. Expect experiments: from reinventions of literary forebears, to explorations of race in the twenty first century.
The OTWC is a group of eight exhilarating playwrights, selected by the OT to spend a year developing their crafts. They meet
throughout the season to share techniques, opinions and obsessions.
Further details to be announced.
“One of London’s most historically significant new writing theatres rediscovered for a new generation... First place I ever attended a writing workshop.” Simon Stephens
